Welcome to my creative corner of the world.
My name is Melissa Anne Smith and I am an artist and surface pattern designer finding infinite inspiration in Northern Michigan.
It is in my garden, in the woodland and on the shores of the Great Lakes I find myself enthralled by continual beauty, from a tiny wildflower to the roaring waves of Lake Superior, I pour my hearts reflections of such delicate and wild magnificence onto any and every surface, in numerous mediums and into patterns from my original work.
The exploration of pattern design has been such a delight. The extension of my artwork to the practical surfaces of life feels like the most natural relationship. I have chosen a select few items that I personally use and brought several of my earliest patterns to life on them. This is so much fun friends and each item is time tested by me. I use them daily.
